With hair extensions blowing up in the hair world, there are now many methods available to stylists. Each hair extension method has its pros and cons, so as a hairstylist it’s important to consider all angles before deciding which one is right for you. Today we are discussing all of aspects of the hair methods you’re investing in before committing, and why!

With hair extensions blowing up in the hair world, there are now many methods available to stylists. It can be daunting to try and decide which one is best for you, and for your clients. With new hair extension techniques being developed all the time, hair stylists are often left feeling confused, and wondering which technique is best to invest in and learn.  I didn't realize how much I was getting myself into when I started exploring hair extension methods; in the end I invested thousands of dollars on courses and memberships just to keep up with the different options! But was it worth it?

Each hair extension method has its pros and cons, so as a hairstylist it’s important to consider all angles before deciding which one is right for you.

When it came to hair extensions, I wanted more than just a one and done certification; I needed guidance to make sure I was beading and sewing the hair correctly to keep the integrity of hair intact. To me, the foundation of hair extensions is in proper bead work, and it was very important for me to have a method that was taught correctly. In addition to this, I also looked into what the grow out process looked like for each method, in which  eliminated tape-in hair, keratin tips and glue-less tabbed hair extensions methods for me.

When selecting a hair extension method to invest your time and money into, there are plenty of critical factors to consider beyond just the initial program cost. Does the hair extensions method provide ongoing support for their stylists? Is there ongoing membership fees for educational benefits? Are you able to afford continuing education and promotional opportunities if needed? It's also worth researching if there are any online resources such as panels, forums, or other educational materials included with your hair extensions method at no extra cost. In order to ensure success with your hair extensions business, carefully contemplate all aspects of the hair methods you’re investing in before committing.
